From Broadway to Berkeley Square

Apologies but I am a little behind with this post. Everything is so horribly hectic at the moment that I am meeting myself coming back and then overtaking myself, doing a bit of a double take, and then I'm not exactly sure where I am anymore!
Friday saw the first of Hessle Theatre Company's summer concerts at the Guildhall in Hull. The word on the street (or from Kath our concert secretary) is that it was a great success! I was not so sure, because I was well aware of some glaring mistakes that we made, so it goes to show that as a singer you are hyper-aware of your performance, either that or the audience were particularly generous.
As well as the group numbers, we had a number of solo performers. There were some excellent pieces, but songs of note have to go to Martin who sang a song from Stephen Sondheim's Saturday Night (LOVE Sondheim, have I said that before!), and Janet and Neil who did a hilarious rendition of The Song That Goes Like This from Spamalot.
We had another rehearsal last night in preparation for our next concert which is this Saturday at St Barnabas Church in Swanland. My friend Nicky and I had our first chance to go through the duet with Nigel last night, which we will be doing at our Beverley concert on the following Saturday. It went quite well, but I really need to learn the words! Along with learning the song and dialogue for my audition for Barnum in less than 2 weeks!!!!
On top of this, rehearsals for the play start next week, and I have my grade 5 exam next Friday. When I say that my involvement with the theatre has snowballed since I joined 2 years ago, I'm REALLY not joking!!!!! I'm exhausted! (and stressed out, and nervous, and I really don't know how I'm going to manage it all!!!)
