Long Time No Speak!

My friend Katherine has just informed me that I haven't posted a blog since last Friday, so apologies for being so lax. I have had, as I have previously mentioned, a really busy couple of weeks. I am nearly at the end of it all now, and I am really looking forward to my holiday to Scotland next week.
Rehearsals for our production of "Mixed Doubles" started on Tuesday. It has be said that the turn out for the first rehearsal wasn't great, so a "must try harder" goes out to my fellow members!!! We have another rehearsal tonight, so hopefully we'll see a few more people there tonight. There will be a notable absence from my friend Suzanne who is in York this evening celebrating her wedding anniversary with her husband (obviously!) Rich, so Happy Anniversary to the two of them.
It was an interesting rehearsal on Tuesday and it was really good to get going. Laura and I went through our scene which sees us as a couple playing a game of doubles tennis with another couple who are unseen. It's a really difficult scene to read through as the script is littered with stage directions, so it's often difficult to see the dialogue through the direction. It is also a heavily choreographed scene which could also prove to be problematic, but my singing teacher has pointed out that this may actually help with learning lines. Here's hoping!
Then Katherine and I went through our scene, where we play a couple in their forties who have gone camping for the first time without their daughter. It's a very amusing scene and I love acting opposite Katherine. Our director, Lucy, said that Katherine and I were very natural with each other, we were very proud! Although Katherine has to be more neurotic, I may have trouble not giggling!
I'm really looking forward to getting into this play more, it's going to be really good fun.
On another note, I am absolutely bricking it at the moment, as I have my grade 5 musical theatre exam tomorrow morning. The good news is, I actually managed to get through all songs in my singing lesson today, without stopping or getting anything wrong, which is always a good thing! So I feel a little bit more prepared now. But we'll see how I get on, only time will tell.
Anyway, I hope you are happy now I have posted, Katherine, and you have had a few more mentions! Tee Hee!!!!
