We're Moving!

Well, we finally got confirmation yesterday that we are moving on Thursday. I am over the moon, because that means that spending the last few days knee deep in boxes and bubble wrap have not been in vain!
This weight off my shoulders has not been helped by our solicitor who neglected to tell us that they had received the confirmation from the other parties agreeing to a completion date on Thursday. Then when I did chase him (again) he informed me of this in a very "I don't know what you are worried about" tone. This is my major gripe with solicitors, they treat everything with such a blase attitude. Just because they do this every day, doesn't mean that everyone else understands what they are talking about. A lot of the stress of moving house would be taken away if people actually returned your phone calls!
It makes me wonder how easy it would be to do your own conveyancing??? Not sure that I would actually attempt it but I know it's possible and I wonder if people who have done this have found moving house less stressful.
