I'll Tek The High Road....

Probably no surprise as my blogs have been somewhat scant the last week or so, but this will probably be my last post for the next week, as my wife and I drive up to Scotland for our holiday today.
It is a year since we got married up in Scotland, so we are going back up to celebrate our anniversary which is on Saturday.
Saturday also coincidentally marks one of the most exciting events in literary history - in my opinion. The publication of the seventh and final Harry Potter book; Laura and I are very excited. We are also excited that this momentous occasion also marks our first wedding anniversary, and as a result we are celebrating our anniversary in style. On Friday we will be heading into Stirling to watch the new Harry Potter movie, The Order of The Phoenix, then we will go out for something to eat and drink, and then we will join the hordes at Waterstones to pick up our books (yes that was in the plural!). Laura and I always buy two copies of Harry Potter, so that we do not have to argue over who is going to read it first! And also these books are our anniversary presents to each other.
We probably won't speak to each other much after that, other than to ask, "what page are you on?"!!!! But we couldn't have a better setting, we will be staying at my cousin's hotel, The Munro Inn in the Trossachs. They have a library with lovely views over the mountains. The perfect setting for a good book and a pint of Guinness!
Suffice to say, I can't wait to get there.
And if you do happen to be reading this Laura, Happy Anniversary my Darling, I love you very much.

I recall being in America when one of the previous HP books came out and discovering that the Americans have different covers to us. That must cause a problem for collectors. Also I believe it is possible to get a version with a cover suitable for adults so they do not feel embarrassed about reading a children's book in public.
Hope you have a good holiday.
